4850m, the morning of the crossing, Annapurna Circuit
Reflections on a trek I undertook in 2005 in Nepal, I found 3 diary entries running up to the actual crossing (5415m) which I share in this sound cloud bite.

At this point we had been trekking for 8 days and the life/death risk of AMS (Altitude Mountain sickness) and to turn back was all too real....Sometimes we can prepare for months but sometimes you just jump right in.
The resistance, challenges and doubt were transformed for me in the heart of this glorious mountain range. The majesty and glory of these mountains was awe inspiring, neither pics nor words can really do it justice.
